A massive sinkhole has swallowed 15 cars in an IHOP parking lot. The huge hole opened up outside the restaurant in Meridian, Mississippi, on Saturday night. Witnesses say they heard huge booms before the hole started to widen. According to WTOK it is 50ft wide and 600ft long. Meridian fire department chief battalion Wayne Cook told the TV station: 'We received a call earlier this evening of a sinkhole opening up at the new IHOP restaurant. 'Upon arrival, we found multiple vehicles in the ditch. At this time, we are trying to stabilize this and keep everyone away. 'As far as the investigation side of it, that's going to be everybody who is involved with this.' Reports suggest a water pipeline may have ruptured, leaving nearby hotels without water. The succession of booms is believed to have caused someone inside the restaurant to yell 'earthquake'. No one was injured in the

incident.
